Who can see the health information that I share?

Note: Certain services, such as viewing your medical record, adding data using Apple Health, nominating a pharmacy, changing contact details and messaging, are only available to practices in England and certain parts of Northern Ireland at this time. Your practice decides which of the available services they make available to their patients.

You, as the patient, add your health information and you own it. The information stored in your Personal Health Record (PHR) can only be seen by health professionals with your consent (as long as the health professional is using an EMIS Web clinical system). The information will never be used for any other purposes.

When a clinician selects a patient who is sharing PHR data, a yellow sharing notification is displayed in their EMIS Web clinical system. If the clinician has been given consent to view the data through EMIS Web Data Sharing – Permission to View, they can view the data.

When Permission to View is set, clinicians can view the patient’s shared personal health record data alongside the clinician's record. A Patient icon appears alongside any data recorded in your PHR, and viewed in EMIS Web.
