Some pharmacy appointments will be chargeable and payment will usually be taken online. The online payment method is added when you book your first pharmacy appointment, it can be edited when you book future appointments, or a new payment method can be added. To delete the payment method, or set a particular card as the default, access My account (available when you select your name), then Payment methods.
GP and non-GP appointments are displayed on the same screen, with GP appointments above non-GP appointments. If a service has at least one provider that charges for the appointment, a '£' sign will be displayed, along with a tool-tip when you hover over it.
Book Appointment screen
In the Book Appointment area, select any service (e.g. Blood Pressure) to read more information. To proceed, select See available locations and use your current location or enter a postcode. Local pharmacies offering that service will be displayed.
The steps from this point would be:
- Select your preferred pharmacy.
- Select date and time.
- Select the appointment type.
- Select Continue.
- If the service is chargeable (and payable online), you will be prompted to add the online payment method (your card details). Sometimes you will need to pay at the pharmacy. If you've added a payment method when booking a previous appointment, and ticked the Save for future payments option, the card will be displayed and selected.
- If required, at this stage you can edit existing payment details, or add a new payment method. Select Edit, for either of these options, then Done.
- Select Book appointment.
You will receive an email confirming the appointment.
